CLINTON — The Rock-Ford Model A Club and Clinton’s Traffic Jams are partnering to host the 26th annual Model A Day event in downtown Clinton.
This celebration of Model As and other classic cars will take place on Sunday, June 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition to Model A cars, there will also be Model T and Model B cars of every color and style available at the show to admire and possibly even purchase.

“(Model A Day is) a way to walk around and look at all these old cars. A lot of us have done the work on the cars ourselves, and rebuilt them from the ground up,” said Board Director Bill Johnson. “If someone’s interested, I’m sure there will be some sales there.”

There will be various other activities available, including a vintage fashion show, food truck, vendors and crafters, novelty and antique shops, an attendance prize, and several raffles.
The Ford Model A, also known as the A-Model Ford or the A, is a car manufactured by the Ford Motor Company from 1927-1931. It replaced the Model T car that came before it and was available in four colors: blue, green, gray, and black.
This classic car’s popularity has endured after so many years due to its reputation as a dependable car that is easy to work on and drive, according to George Brunson, President of the Rock-Ford Model A Club.

“You’ve got a nice, old, antique car that you can fix yourself and drive around and have fun,” Brunson said.
The 26th annual Model A Day car show got its start in the Midway Village Museum in Rockford, Illinois, where the event was hosted for more than 10 years. The Rock-Ford A’s moved their popular annual event to Sharon, Wisconsin, once the management at Midway began asking for money to host the car show there.
Model A Day was well-served by Sharon for 25 years until the event chose to move again, due to several factors. The car show was invited wholeheartedly by the village of Clinton, Wisconsin, where it has remained ever since.
The Rock-Ford Model A Club hosts a number of other activities throughout the year, including club tours, parades, and more. In fact, they have two parades occurring on Memorial Day weekend, one in Beloit at 9 a.m. and the other in Pecatonica at 2 p.m.
Admission for Model A Day is free and all money raised at the event will go to two food pantries in Clinton, after expenses.

“To join our club, you don’t have to own a Model A,” Brunson said. “It’s a very welcoming club.”
